Rocky Top Living is a ten-home community under development in 2010 in Cowiche, Washington, about seven miles west of Yakima. The 75-mile William O. Douglas Hiking Trail goes right through the property. It is designed as a completely sustainable community with passive design, constructed wetlands to treat waste water, one-level living on a small footprint, photovoltaics, solar hot water and non-toxic materials. Using contemporary technologies, these homes provide conventional comfort in a way that supports our future success of living with no fossil fuels in the homes themselves — without sacrificing the conveniences of modern living. This video shows a fly-around of a draft model of the exterior of a 1500 sq. ft. two-bedroom house. See more at www.rockytopliving.net
